Portland Fishing Report! Tuna Fishing Charters Fishing is HOT!

The Portland Bluefin Tuna season 2016 has been fantastic so far with almost all of our charters bagging out. Here’s a shout out to all those wonderful people who joined us for an amazing experience on board Reel Time Fishing Charters. We (Matt & Chris) have enjoyed every single day the Southern Ocean with our lovely customers. We try our best capturing amazing pictures of our customers fishing so that they can take back these amazing memories with them. When possible, we also try creating some great videos.

Was Great Seeing allot of Women Onboard Trying their luck!

Fishing in Portland has been consistent with fish early in the season being captured anywhere from 50 to 100 Mtrs of Cape Bridge Water then moving South to the back of the Rock and as far down as Port Fairy in the same depths. We did not have to travel far to find the tuna, which makes everyone’s life so easy!

Take Advantage of our Midweek Special Extended to the end of July 2016

With the fish moving east and starting to feed on the much smaller bait, the fishing can become quite tricky. This is when a good lure selection comes in handy with solid knowledge and past experience. Here are some tips of what worked for us at Reel Time Fishing Charters during the transition -

Looks like our Tiny 5" 9MM in Secret Frigate has been quite busy over the weekend in Portland, VIC for Reel Time Fishing Charters! Take a closer look at this lure here: http://zacataklures.com.au/tiny-lure-9mm-secret-frigate/

I always like to make sure I am armed and ready to mix it up in any way to get the bites! Here is a glimpse of my go to Lure box!

The Richter range in the Junior Tornado has been outstanding especially this little Fella! 610 926
